The work performed on 7 St. Thomas – a stunning commercial development, blending Victorian and contemporary design – is an excellent example of accomplishing a masonry restoration project on a constrained inner-city urban site, while keeping to a strict delivery schedule.
This project involved the disassembly of large elevated building components, such as roof areas and dormers, and then re-assembly using non-combustible building materials. The original architectural detail was reinstalled, refurbished or in places remanufactured. This project involved reinforcing the existing facades with extensive steel framing, permitting the structure to be tied to the new high-rise frame.
