James Whalen Building

The James Whalen building is a landmark in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It was built in the style of a Chicago-style skyscraper and, for this reason, presented a unique challenge for the masonry team to match the style. The project involved a complete exterior renovation, involving scaffolding, Jahn mortar castings, repairs & replacement of the building’s terra cotta, and restoration of its masonry and lead flashings.
